Abstract

The invention, according to the description, relates to a device for the continuous administration of nebulisation to patients with spontaneous respiration, without ventilatory support. This device is provided so that the continuous administration of drugs in a nebulised form to those patients who do not require ventilatory support can be carried out over prolonged periods of time, in a programmed, safe and controlled manner, without the need to interrupt the administration of said drug or carry out periodic manipulations. Said device consists of a mask of flexible material with a store or cup fitted into the lower part, whereinto the drug to be nebulised is poured. A drug administration tube or extension leads into the the upper part of said store, said tube or extension being connected, on the other end thereof, to a continuous infusion pump. This connection is hermetic, thereby preventing any type of leakage.

Description

DISPOSITIVO DE ADMINISTRACION CONTINUA DE NEBULIZACION  CONTINUOUS NEBULIZATION ADMINISTRATION DEVICE
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCION DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The structure of this new mask model for drug nebulization varies, with respect to the existing ones, in which a watertight connection is added to the classic bowl, in its upper part, for an extension, with the particularity that connecting it by the Another end to a continuous infusion pump, will provide, on a regular and maintained basis, the prescribed medication, without the need for interruption of the administration of the drug or frequent handling of its components and its connections by the responsible personnel. Its elements are described in detail below.

The device of the invention is composed of a mask (1) of flexible and transparent material that encompasses the patient's nose and mouth, and therefore, of different size according to the age of the patient, which in its antero-inferior part has a hole (2) of approximately 2 cm. in diameter, which connects to a tank or bowl (3) of 8 alO mi. of capacity, also transparent, for particles of 1 to 4 microns in size, in which the medication to be nebulized is poured.
In the upper part of the tank (3), and under the mask insertion hole (2), there is an access to the tank (4), which protrudes outwards, in which it will be coupled with a thread and waterproof way, a flexible tube or extension, from 120 to 150 cm. long and with a capacity of 2.8-3.5 mi. We have provided the device with this sealed access, so that the accidental disconnection of the tube and the leakage of the medication to be administered cannot occur. This tube, at the other end, is connected to a continuous infusion pump of the syringe type or the like.
At the bottom of the tank is the connection (5) in which the oxygen delivery tube will be coupled.
