Abstract

The invention relates to methods of delivering multimedia content to users, by distributing the content received from various sources, and may be used to provide information segmented by users interests, depending on the time of day, for example day-night. The method for controlling content output to the user terminal by providing from a web server various information depending on the time of day comprises the division of the information system duty cycle into time blocks and loading therein of the information by creating attributes that define the time intervals of visual display. At the same time, additional attributes of the information blocks are formed for the selection of the appropriate time block with the information associated with it. On the basis of data display algorithm of the information system is compared the activity status of associated information of the time blocks of the information system duty cycle. In accordance with the current time of day is selected and by means of data-transmission networks is transmitted to the user terminal the information having the highest use activity status. The additional attributes are introduced into the system through the web interface or by means of interaction with the software on a mobile device.

Description

Method for Controlling Internet Content Output to the User Terminal
The invention relates to methods of delivering multimedia content to users, by distributing the content received from various sources, and may be used to provide information segmented by users' interests, depending on the time of day, for example day-night.
There are known technical solutions according to which the updating of information content is carried out depending on the time.
For example, in the application No. KR20050013433 in order to expand the audience of users, increase their interest, as well as enhance the educational effect on the screens of personal computers are transmitted different images [1]. Image transmission is carried out through the Internet from a Web server by selecting them from the storage device in accordance with the time of day/night and season. The process includes the preliminary check of the current time and change of mages to be transmitted according to the season or any other time characteristics.
However, the functionality of this method to achieve a significant effect is limited to providing only the graphic format of information data in the form of pictures.
The closest in the technical nature solution to the claimed method is a method disclosed in the application No. KR20100018369 [2].
The present invention describes a web server that transmits to the navigation terminal the information, differentiated in accordance with the interests of the user depending on the time of day - day/night.
According to the method for controlling Internet content output to the user terminal by providing from a web server various information depending on the time of day, it is performed the storage of Internet content in the database of the web server; check of the attribute of the possibility to display the information in the current period of time; complete or partial replacement or modification of the information transmitted to the user at different times of day.
However, the described method that implements the operation of the claimed device provides for the output of mapping information containing data only to find the navigation route between the point of departure and the point of destination for the night navigation mode.
As a consequence, the disadvantage of this method is the narrow range of its application limited by the scope of use for a particular specific field.
The technical problem to be solved by the proposed invention is to expand the functionality of the claimed method and its field of use. The assigned task is solved at the expense of the fact that in the method for controlling Internet content output to the user terminal by providing from a web server of the information system various information depending on the time of day, providing for the storage of the Internet content in the server database, check of the attribute of the possibility of displaying the information in the current time period, complete or partial replacement or modification of the information transmitted to the user at different times of the day, the duty cycle of the information system is divided into time blocks and is loaded therein the information by creating attributes that define the time intervals of visual display and representation of the displayed information blocks; definition and shaping of additional attributes of the information blocks with their subsequent introduction into the information system with the possibility of selecting the appropriate time block with the information associated with it; on the basis of data display algorithm of the information system is compared the activity status of associated information of the time blocks of the information system duty cycle; in accordance with the current time of day is selected and by means of data-transmission networks is transmitted to the user terminal the information having the highest use activity status.
At the same time, the additional attributes are introduced into the system through the web interface.
In addition, the additional attributes are introduced into the system by means of interaction with the software on the mobile device.
And the information associated with a specific time block is selected with the help of the web interface.
And also the information associated with a specific time block is selected by means of interaction with the application on the mobile device.
At the same time, the current time of day is determined pursuant to the geographical location of the user terminal, for example using the time in the UTC standard taking account of the time-zone.
The result, achieved with the help of the claimed invention, is to increase the efficiency of user information service.
This result is achieved by performing the following steps.
Separation of the time cycle of the information system into time blocks enables to systematize the information for the subsequent dynamic and safe selection thereof and proposal of the concerned category of users depending on the time of its display.
Due to the introduction into the information system of additional attributes of information blocks is ensured the extension of both data volume and semantic content of the information provided and, as a consequence, the extension of the application field. At the same time, the possibility of selecting the time blocks with the information associated with them provided in the process allows to carry out the interactive interaction with the users, in respect of which is performed the release of requested information.
Moreover, depending on a particular situation the attributes can also be introduced through the web interface from a fixed terminal, and through a mobile device.
The possibility of determining and comparing the status of information activity of different time blocks of the information system working cycle permits to evaluate their relevance in a specific time period for a particular contingent of users. The subsequent marking of blocks with the highest activity status for their further address transfer in the established period of time significantly increases the relevance of the displayed information to the requests of the content users and extends the effectiveness and output of the information system implementing the proposed method.
As a consequence, it is provided the effective information service of a wide audience of users in different time periods.
As a result of this method, the amount of displayed information can be increased several times without overloading the user interface. At the same time, it further increases the efficiency and effective load of the server equipment and information channels.
When using this method in different time zones users will always receive active information.
Summary of the invention is illustrated by the following description and drawings.
FIG. 1 shows the block diagram of the interaction of information system elements;
FIG. 2 shows the scheme of obtaining the current time of day taking into account the location of the user's terminal.
The method for controlling Internet content output to the user terminal is realized by providing from the web server information different in content depending on the time of day: "day - night".
The claimed method provides for the storage of Internet content in the server DB, check of the attribute of the possibility to display the information in the current time period and the total or partial replacement or modification of the information transmitted to the user at different times of day.
For this, the duty cycle of the information system is divided into time blocks and is loaded therein the information by creating attributes that define the time intervals of visual display and representation of the displayed information blocks; define and shape the additional attributes of the information blocks with the subsequent introduction thereof into the information system with the possibility of defining the appropriate time block with the information associated with it; on the basis of data display algorithm of the information system is compared the activity status of associated information of the time blocks of the information system duty cycle; in accordance with the current time of day is selected and by means of data-transmission networks is transmitted to the user terminal the information having the highest use activity status.
In this context, "activity status of associated information of the time blocks" is a logical expression taking the value yes/no, based on the logic of accounting of the time intervals, information attributes, and location of content user.
The formed additional attributes can be introduced into the system through a web interface from a fixed terminal or through interaction with the software on a mobile device. Accordingly, the information associated with a specific time block is selected using the web interface or through interaction with an application on a mobile device.
As a rule, the additional attributes are formed by the owner of the information block.
In the process of implementation of the method the current time of day is determined pursuant to the geographic location of the user terminal, for example using the UTC standard time taking account of the time-zone in the UTC standard (UTC - Universal Time Coordinated - standard by which the society regulates the hours and time).
The system that implements the method described (Figure 1) comprises a data processing server 1, connected to a database 2 and a software module 3. At the same time, between the module 3 and the database 2 is established a direct connection. The system includes a user terminal 4, which interacts with the server 1 and an information request program module 5 for request transmission in respect of such information set stored in the database 2. The module 3 controls the operation mode of the system and determines what information will be transmitted to the user terminal 4 via the server 1 from the database 2.
For transmitting the information to the user terminal 4 the user determines its coordinate using the global positioning system 6 (FIG. 2). On the basis of the received information about the longitude the user from the terminal 4 determines the time zone, requesting the reference time server 7, for subsequent time synchronization on the terminal.
In the claimed method the Internet content to the user terminal 4 is output from the database 2, preliminarily checking with the help of software module 3 the possibility of displaying the information in the current time period. Using the server 1, the information contained in the database 2 is divided into time blocks corresponding to certain ranges of display. At the same time, using the software module 3 in the information system for further provision of information are formed additional attributes providing for the definition of the time block with the information associated with it. Such an additional attribute for the present invention is, for example, the time variable possessing the value "day" or "night".
The software module 3 on the basis of the information request incoming from the user via the program module 5 and server 1, using the data display algorithm, compares the use activity status of the associated information of the time blocks of the information system duty cycle. Then the module 3 in accordance with the current time of day selects and via the server 1 transmits to the terminal 4 the information having the highest use activity status. At the same time, depending on the time of day, in particular when comparing the "day - night", there takes place the complete or partial change of information transmitted to the terminal 4 for different user groups.
As users may act both users of mobile phones (mobile terminal) and users of fixed computers (fixed terminal). Introduction of additional attributes and selection of the information associated with a particular time block can be produced depending on the user's terminal using the web server (fixed terminal) or by interacting with the program on the mobile device (mobile terminal).
The information is transmitted to the terminal 4 taking into account its geographical location.
In determining his coordinate, mobile phone user can use the receiver 6 of the Global Positioning System (GPS, Glonas or GeoIP). On the basis of the received information about the longitude the user, using the protocol NTP (Network Time Protocol), via the reference time server 7 determines the time zone. After that, for the terminal 4 by means of the NTP protocol there takes place the synchronization of time with the server 7 in the UTC format.
Exemplary embodiment
During the development of the above-described method it was carried out the experimental verification of its feasibility.
To this end it was modified the information system of business communications "Piata Noua" (https://www.piatanoua.md).
In the system functionality has been added a new mode of operation of the site "Day/Night".
The specified mode operates as follows.
Upon posting up of a notice the user is proposed to select one of the modes of publication
- "only in the afternoon", "only at night", "twenty-four hours".
The filed information is verified and processed using the software module, which performs the query normalization, categorization, selection of significant words, and assignment of weighting coefficients of relevance, afterwards it is stored in the database of the information system. As a result, the data are ready for further use in the "Piata Noua" system.
In the process of operation of the data processing server, in the capacity of which is used a Virtual Server under the control of OC Linux, hosted in the cloud computing cluster, the software module according to the programmed algorithm keeps track of current time.
The user accesses the information system "Piata Noua" with the requests by means of the terminal in the form of a mobile phone, such as smartphone Samsung Galaxy S6, to obtain from the database the necessary information.
At the same time, before requesting information, the user determines its location with the help of the GPS system sensor; synchronizes its time with the reference time server (http://www.ntp-servers.net/) and transmits these data to the server of the system.
The server determines the geographic position of the user terminal, calculates the time corresponding to this position for the whole duration of the information request session.
O the basis of these data the software module controls the priority and delivery of information, taking into account the information about the mode of publication of related data stored in the database.
At the same time, the user of the information system of business communications "Piata Noua" to its query retrieves only the relevant at the moment information, which significantly improves the relevance of the release of requested information.

Claims

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1. A method for controlling Internet content output to the user terminal by providing from a web server of the information system various information depending on the time of day, providing for the storage of the Internet content in the server database; check of the attribute of the possibility of displaying information in the current time period; complete or partial replacement or modification of the information transmitted to the user at different times of the day; wherein the duty cycle of the information system is divided into time blocks and is loaded therein the information by creating attributes that define the time intervals of visual display and representation of the displayed information blocks; define and shape additional attributes of the information blocks with their subsequent introduction into the information system with the possibility of selecting the appropriate time block with the information associated with it; on the basis of data display algorithm of the information system is compared the activity status of associated information of the time blocks of the information system duty cycle; in accordance with the current time of day is selected and by means of data-transmission networks is transmitted to the user terminal the information having the highest use activity status.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein the additional attributes are introduced into the system through the web interface.
3. The method of claim 1 wherein the additional attributes are introduced into the system by means of interaction with the software on a mobile device.
4. The method of claim 2 wherein the information associated with a specific time block is selected with the help of the web interface.
5. The method of claim 3 wherein the information associated with a specific time block is selected by means of interaction with the application on a mobile device.
6. The method of claims 1-5 wherein the current time of day is determined pursuant to the geographical location of the user terminal, for example using the time in the UTC standard taking account of the time-zone.
