[Originally published as individual volumes in UK paperback Originals in 1985.As an HB Omnibus, originally published UK,Weidenfeld & Nicolson,London,1987.As a paperback omnibus Warner Books,1998.As a HB omnibus, this first published by Little,Brown and Company,1999,so a 1st edn thus.] FINE-/FINE. No owner inscrptn and no price-clip to dw/dj.Bright,crisp, clean,wrap-around,glossy,non-credited colour pictorial illustration, illustrated dw/dj with capitalised yellow lettered title to front; spine/backstrip with similarly coloured+lettered title and publisher's white illustrated+lettered colophon and name to foot of same, rear panel with front's repaeted illustration and white lettered synopsis and 2 critics' - one of them Stephen King's - reviews.Negligible shelf-wear to edges and corners – no nicks, tears or splits present. Top+fore-edges though with age acquired toning are clean without foxing or spotting; contents tight, clean with page-edge toning, solid and sound – no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corner tips – appears unread, apart from my own collation.Publisher's bright, crisp,clean/unblemished,sharp-cornered,glazed boards with dw/dj repeated design/illustration and lettering riginal to boards and spine/backstrip too,and immaculate plain white endpapers.UK,8vo HB+dw/dj, omnibus 1st edn, includes Volumes 1- 3 of Books of Blood; 1-149pp, 1-150pp and 1-182pp [paginated] and comprising 6, 5 and 5 stories respectively; plus [unpaginated] half-title+title pages,3 individual Books Volume separator pages,3 individual Contents list/tables,4pp blanks between Volume 1 and 2, 2pp blanks between Volume 2 and 3,and to the rear as last pages, 10pp blanks. Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional and particularly internally,is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation, for a book of its 20+ year-old age. It is only the minor toning fault described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite that,it is still an exemplary example for its cleanliness and lack of other detracting faults. Here are the stories written on the Book of Blood. They are a map of that dark highway that leads out of life towards unknown destinations. Few will have to take it. Most will go peacefully along lamplit streets, ushered out of living with prayers and caresses. But for a few, the horrors will come, skipping, to fetch them off to the highway of the damned . . . Gathered together for the first time in one volume, here are fifteen mind-shattering stories from the awesome imagination of World Fantasy Award winning author Clive Barker. They will take you to the brink - and beyond. . . Please contact seller, for correct shipping/P+p quotes - particularly ALL overseas customers - BEFORE ordering through the order page! N.B. ALL buyers please note, stocks' actual shipping/P+p costs are adjusted and any difference is refunded, after order's receipt and before the order's despatch, especially if the item(s) are offered either P+p included/FREE. ** N.B.
