Andy LeRoy

Andy LeRoy enters his 15th season as head alpine coach at the University of Denver in 2021, continuing a lifetime on the slopes in his home state.

In 2020, LeRoy led Denver to four top-five finishes, including a comeback win at the RMISA Championships. The Pioneers registered seven individual alpine victories on the season, highlighted by Storm Klomhaus and Tobias Kogler each winning the giant slalom National Championship.

Klomhaus and Kogler both earned First Team All-American honors in the giant slalom along with Simon Fournier. Amelia Smart was named a Second Team All-American in the giant slalom.

LeRoy led the Pioneers to their 24th overall NCAA Championship in 2018 and sixth in his tenure. Alpine skiers have registered 21 individual National Championships during his 14 years.

Denver has had five athletes go on to be Olympians and 110 All-Americans coached by LeRoy.

He was named Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Coach of the Year for alpine in each of his first three seasons at Denver.

From 2003-06, LeRoy served as alpine coach for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, where he was named the Rocky Mountain Regional Coach of the Year in 2005 and Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Coach of the Year in 2006.

Before moving to Steamboat to coach at the club level, LeRoy served as an assistant at the University of Colorado from 2001-02, helping the Buffs to a second-place finish at the 2001 and third-place finish at the 2002 NCAA National Championships.

A former alpine skier at CU, LeRoy was a First Team All-American and individual national champion in the slalom at the 2000 NCAA National Championships and named CU Athlete of the Year that same year.

LeRoy was a member of the U.S. Ski Team from 1993-99 and was on the 1998 U.S. Winter Olympic team that competed in Nagano, Japan. He won the North American Cup Slalom title in 1999. He also holds the British National Slalom Championship from 1997.

LeRoy is happily married with two children.
