From an undated-unnamed newspaper obituary clipping from 'The Paris Scrapbook' donated by Skipper Steely; 'Murray T. Easton, a well known citizen of Paris, died at 4:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his residence on South Main street, after an illness of several weeks from typhoid fever. Despite faithful medical attention during his long illness he gradually grew weaker and the family and friends were apprehensive of the worst several days before the end came. While not unexpected his death is a source of keen sorrow to a great many friends as well as to the family. The deceased was born in Paris and was forty-two years old. He was the son of William Easton, who was engaged for a number of years in the grocery business in this city, and who died a few years ago in San Angelo. He began working for the Paris Grocer company when he was a little boy and remained constantly with it up to the time of his death, having been in its employ about twenty-five years. Most of the time he was employed as a traveling salesman and was one of the most successful men on the road. When the branch house was opened at Hugo he traveled out of that place, but continued to make Paris his home. He was widely known among the traveling men, among whom he was very popular, and although he was of a quiet disposition he had a great many friends. He enjoyed the esteem and confidence of his business associates and fellow-employees in a marked degree. The deceased married Miss Eva Boyd, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Boyd, about twenty years ago and he is survived by his wife and two daughters, Misses Eleanor and Lois Easton. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. William Easton, residing on Lamar avenue; two sisters, Mrs. Willie Nowlin of Montgomery City, MO, and Mrs. Josie Waters of San Angelo; a brother, Henry Easton, living on the river north of Paris, and an uncle, A. O. Easton, living near Reno. The funeral service will be held at the family residence on South Main street at 4 o'clock this afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. E. R. Barcus, pastor of the Centenary church. Messrs. S. W. Williams, William Milling, George F. Hicks, E. C. Fort, C. P. Floyd and H. G. Armstrong, the older members of the Paris Grocer company and business associates of the deceased, have been selected as honorary pallbearers, and R. C. Lane, F. C. Latimer, H. L. McCuistion, Artie Williams, C. M. Portwood and W. P. Cornelius, with whom the deceased was also associated, have been designated as active pallbearers. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery.'
