The Halifax Wanderers have announced the club’s roster for pre-season taking place in Halifax, Toronto and the West Coast. 

Halifax enters training camp with 20 players under contract, including 13 players returning from the 2023 CPL season. 

Among the seven new faces on the squad is Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé, a former Wanderer who played for York United this past season. Other recent signings include experienced American striker Christian Volesky, Brazilian midfielder Vitor Dias and Canadian defender Julian Dunn. 

Two Nova Scotians are taking part in training camp, Max Bodurtha and Yorgos Gavas. Bodurtha was the Wanderers’ second-round selection in the 2024 CPL – U SPORTS Draft out of StFX University. Gavas, 17, signed a Development Contract with the Wanderers during the 2023 season and is eligible for further Development Contracts in 2024. 

Also attending camp are goalkeepers Daniel Clarke and Aiden Rushenas. Clarke was the Wanderers’ first-round selection in the CPL – U SPORTS Draft from Cape Breton University. Rushenas was a member of the Wanderers roster in 2023 after being selected in that year’s draft out of Dalhousie University. 

Wanderers defender Kareem Sow will miss the first few weeks of camp as he recovers from a planned wrist surgery.

The Wanderers will spend the next month in Halifax before departing for Toronto for the first leg of their coast-to-coast training camp that will lead them into their season-opening match against Pacific FC.
