From the Webike Community's My Bike, the "Owner Review Summary" introduces various motorcycles based on the voices of owners who actually ride or have ridden them. This time, here's what the owners have to say about    Suzuki「SV650!」.

To be honest, Suzuki "SV650" is this kind of bike!

In the large middle class in the same displacement range as Suzuki's SV650 series, there are many naked models such as Yamaha's MT-07, Honda's CB650/R, and Kawasaki's Z650/RS. Z650/RS. The appeal point of the SV650 series is that it is a large-size middle-class model with the same displacement range as the Suzuki SV650 series. The appeal of the SV650 series lies in its slim 90° V-twin engine.

In recent years, parallel twin engines, which are more cost-effective to build, have become the mainstream for sport bikes, and V-twin engines with front and rear cylinders have all but disappeared.
However, this does not mean that V-twin engines are bad. In fact, the 90° V-twin 645cc engine mounted on the V-Strom 650 as well as the SV650 series is a highly regarded engine that is considered a masterpiece among Suzuki's V-twin engines.

The first characteristic of the V-twin engine is that it is slimmer than a parallel-twin engine because the cylinders can be offset front to back. This makes it a good match for a tubular steel truss frame, which allows for a slimmer chassis. The V-twin and truss frame component, which enables a slim and compact sports bike, has been adopted in many sports bikes all over the world. The SV650 also follows this V-twin and truss frame combination and has a very compact and slim chassis structure.
In fact, when riding, the slim and flexible tubular steel truss frame makes it possible to enjoy a lively sport ride.

The 90°V-twin 645cc engine is characterized by a strong V-twin-like pulse feeling. In recent years, parallel-twin engines with a 270° crankshaft have become popular, and this 270° crankshaft layout was originally based on the 90° V-twin engine feel. Although the 90°V-twin engine has many fans, Suzuki is currently the only Japanese manufacturer to use this 90°V-twin layout.
The SV650 is the only naked V-twin model.

It should be noted that the bike received more than 4 points in the areas of riding, looks, fuel efficiency, and handling. The bike looks like a classic motorcycle but has enough horsepower to handle everything from city driving to highway driving without a hitch.

On the other hand, while loadability was cited as a disadvantage, there were also comments that the bike's minimal equipment makes it fun to customize.

SV650 Owner's Voice

Here are some of the most impressive voices among the many reviews.

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models For everyday play.
From touring to city riding.
Advantages/Satisfactory points  It has enough horsepower, can turn in small circles, and is not hard to ride long distances. It is truly an all-rounder.
I heard that the steering wheel angle is small, but it doesn't bother me much at all. The seat was hard and my butt started to hurt after about 150 km. I used Gelzab, but it didn't make much difference, so I bought a Bugster LadyLuxe seat, which made it much easier.
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points It only has the bare minimum, so I may need to install various things to make it look the way I like it. I wish there was a windshield model for touring. I wish there was a windshield model for touring. It is very hard to ride without a windshield at high speeds (mentally and physically).
The rear suspension is stiff, so I think it would be easier to turn curves at about the second level from the weakest. I need a little more space under the seat.
Advice for prospective buyers I have often seen this in the opinions of other SV650 riders and agree. Maybe it would be easier to ride with the rear suspension preload at 2 instead of the initial value:
When I actually start riding it, I'm surprisingly standing still because my arms are inexperienced.
I am already planning to lower the rear suspension and shorten the side stand. Also, the clutch is a bit stiff at low rpm, probably due to the difference in the EXH distribution length of the L-type 2-cylinder, and this may be solved with the SP Tadao PowerBox. I imagine that SP Tadao PowerBox might solve this problem.
I intend to try it sooner or later. Well, I have written a lot of things, but I feel that I and the bike can grow as I stumble and tinker with it, and I think it is a bike that I can also enjoy. I think it is a bike that can be enjoyed.

Doshin

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models I switched from a Yamaha FJR1300 full panniers and it was a very good bike, but after turning 60, the weight of about 300 kg, handling and maintenance of the full cowl became a problem, so I decided to go with a Suzuki sv650. I like the handling, maintainability, and especially the comfort of the v2 engine, and I like the lightness and ease with which I can go anywhere.
I don't know if it is suitable for young people.
Advantages/Satisfactory points  1、Easy to ride and the v2 engine is comfortable.
2. Easy to maintain. (No unnecessary things, including the control system.)
3. Good fuel economy. (I mainly tour, but my average mileage is 30-33km.
4、Cheap maintenance costs for parts, etc. (even cheaper if you do it yourself).
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points 1、Tight overall position due to mid-size class body (178cm height)
2、Poor loading capacity.
3. Cheap price, so the details are cheap.
If the price goes up, I would like to buy again if there is a high-end SV with aluminum and chrome.
Advice for prospective buyers As a large bike, it is suitable for beginners due to its low hurdles. The low-speed torque of the V2 engine and acceleration from about 4500 rpm is something that a mid-size bike cannot offer.
It is not a slow bike by any means, so be careful when riding at high rpm.

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models I am a returning rider. Obtained a large license at the age of 48.
I have narrowed down the bikes I am interested in and have tasted them on a rental bike. The main intended use is for weekend day touring.
SV650 was the first bike that my wife and I rode together on a spur-of-the-moment action, but I had a gut feeling that this was the one. I had a gut feeling that it was the one. Overall, I think it is a bike that I can ride for a long time.
The comparison is Z900RS, Iron883, Trident660, XSR900, (SV650 here), Tracer900GT, and KATANA ABS. The SV650 is the only bike that my wife and I actually rode together, but if it had been any other bike, I don't think she would have liked it! I think so. If I don't convince my wife, my motorcycle life from now on will be very narrow.
Advantages/Satisfactory points  Which engine type would suit me best? I consciously chose inline 4-cylinder, inline 3-cylinder, V-twin, and L-twin engines and tasted the bikes I liked, but the L-twin SV650's ride quality was perfect for me.
I prefer the ride quality that gives me a sense of torque in everyday city riding rather than the maximum speed specs. I think it is a model that can handle both city and highway riding without any problems. I think it is a model that can handle both city and highway riding without any problems.
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points The OEM digital meter cover looks like a turban head.
I installed a bikini cowl for wind protection as well. The rear suspension bounces hard when riding alone. Preload initial value
Compared to the straight 4, the low rpms from idle are choppy (severe). As often said, the difference in EXH piping length between the L-type 2-cylinder and the straight-4 may be the reason for the difference. I think this is the reason for the difference in EXH pipe length between the two L cylinders.
Advice for prospective buyers I have often seen this in the opinions of other SV650 riders and agree. Check out the SV650's competitors

In terms of displacement, Japanese rivals include Yamaha's MT-07, Kawasaki's Z650/RS, and Honda's CB650R. The main difference is the engine type: while the SV650 has a V-twin engine, most of them have parallel twin engines, and the CB650R has an in-line four-cylinder engine.

In recent years, many parallel-twin engine models, which are wider than V-twin engines, have narrowed down the straddle to improve the leg room. When you compare the straddle, you will see that the SV650 has a very slim body structure in areas other than the seat, such as the tank area. If you are looking for a slim and compact machine, you should definitely try out the actual bike.
