BLR's latest is another exploration of the deep with Delusions of Grandeur regular Norm de Plume behind the beats. This is a fresh four tracker with 'Hear Us Now' a rich, cosmic sound with vocals and twinkling keys over a punchy beat. There is a much more playful rhythm to 'Strange Land' that rocks back and forth on disco tinged loops filled with sunshine. It's back to heady territory for 'April,' a steamy basement cut for the soul, and rousing out is the smooth and seductive house sound of 'Meanwhile Uptown' which is something like what Rick Wade might produce.

Bolting Bits writer and Head Hancho at Better Listen Records, Martín Miguel, continues on his journey of providing us with some of the best underground cuts from the dance community's most talented producers. For his forthcoming release, the D.C. native has chosen to partner with Sydney-based producer Norm de Plume, who has been a mainstay on imprints like Delusions of Grandeur.

Titled 'Hear Us Now,' this EP is a four-tracker offering flavors for every occasion, from the anthemic title track and fierce “Meanwhile Uptown” to the moodier midtempo action of “Strange Land” and “April”. We are fortunate to be premiering the lead track from the record, which you can listen to below.

The lock-out laws have just been abolished a few weeks prior and Covid-19 is not yet affecting Sydney's fragile clubland. There's an air of optimism amongst local DJs, clubs and promoters: this is Sydney's chance to try and strengthen their city's electronic music scene which has taken a pounding by over-zealous legislation and insanely strict licensing.

The nice folks at Resident Advisor Sydney gave this headline gig of mine RA pick with the following description...

"Disco-flecked deep house of the highest quality from the Delusions Of Grandeur affiliate."

...so I wanted to step up and play my best NDP-style set possible for everyone involved: Not least for the Something Else guys: Dave Stuart & Alex Dimitroff, who operate a record store and a weekly club night in Sydney under harsh financial conditions.

Sometimes, a rare moment happens and you manage to play a set that both you and the crowd love. I felt really free to just do my thing on this particular night. (Helped by a great warm up from Attic).

This is a mix of new & old deep, dubby, disco-y and underground house with the type of depth and soul I like. Featuring some of my favourite producers, all-vinyl as I like to do. I really enjoyed this gig and I enjoy listening back to it. I hope you will too. Particularly if you are housebound during the C-19 health crisis.

I dedicate this to all my followers, friends and family in Sydney, London and beyond. Stay safe and healthy.

Deep House DJ and producer from London now based in Sydney. Works for Jimpster's Delusions Of Grandeur label and runs his own vinyl-only imprint: Plumage. DJ'ing since 1996 has released music on Delusions Of Grandeur, Plumage, Kolour Limited, Black Riot & Sideways Recordings.

His international touring has taken him across northern Europe, to South America & Australia. His music has received support from Nightmares On Wax, DJ Harvey, Osúnlade, Soul Clap, Moxie, Detroit Swindle, Medlar, Aroop Roy, Pete Herbert, Chaos In The CBD and many others.

Currently hosting his own hifi dance party: "Analogue Discogue" at East Sydney Community & Arts Centre and other venues across Sydney & Australia.
His sound is a mix of deep & disco , dubby , underground house. Collecting records for over 20 years and playing mostly vinyl.
