Watching Eurotrash is always a bit of a sobering experience and when the bonkers show returned for a referendum special last night, it was as varied, weird and colourful as we had hoped for.
An excited generation of viewers who had grown up with Eurotrash airing in the late night slot couldn’t wait to see what the programme had in store and it delivered in the form of artists painting with penises, naked men eating worms on an inflatable bed while singing and people dressing up as Prince Charles and Camilla.
Sensational. They had Eddie Izzard on for half a minute too, but nothing is perfect.
As fans sat transfixed, they began to realise how weird they were feeling at being reunited with the show that was their internet before the internet was a proper thing. Yep, something indeed was very different about watching Eurotrash nowadays…
Well, despite missing out on the fear of being caught, Eurotrash still went down a storm online and viewers are now calling for a full time return.
