Celebrated mid-morning show host Flavia Tumusiime Kabuura has announced that she will be leaving her AM to PM show on Capital FM Uganda at the end of August.
Tumusiime, 33, has been hosting the show for the last 16 years having joined the radio station in 2006.
“Tomorrow 31st August will be my final show at Capital FM Uganda for the mid-morning show. It’s been a life and career changing experience for me since 2006. The time has come again for me to stretch my potential and see what else I can become,” she wrote on her Twitter timeline.
Despite speculations that she is quitting the Station, The Tower Post has exclusively learnt that Tumusiime will be staying and only relocating to a different show.
“Flavia is not quitting Capital FM. She is only leaving the mid-morning show and will now be hosting Desert Island Discs,” a source inside Capital FM who preferred anonymity so as to speak freely confided in this website.
A leaked internal message to Capital FM staffers further confirmed that the renowned Social Media influencer will not be leaving the station but plans to come back in another show.
“This is the end of the road for me on the morning show but certainly not the end for me at Capital FM Uganda. I’ll be back in another capacity sooner than you think,” Flavia wrote to her workmates.
Desert Island Discs is a weekly show that airs every Sunday evening on Capital FM Uganda.
Each week, a guest is invited and the host guides them as they discuss their life and the reasons for the different choices they made in life.
The show which also airs on Capital FM’s Youtube page was previously hosted by Simon Kasyate from whom Flavia will take over.
Tumusiime, prior to joining Capital FM was a presenter on Hot 100FM. The station’s frequency [100.9] has since been taken over by Capital FM’s sister station KIIS 100.
She has also worked on television, hosting WBS TV’s teen club and K-files and as a News anchor on NTV Uganda. Outside Uganda, she has worked for Channel O and worked as a presenter for Big Brother Africa in 2012.
