In 1940, Fort Eben-Emael was considered the strongest fort in the world. Then a company of German paratroopers landed on top of it. Fort Eben-Emael surrendered a day later. Assymetrical warfare had arrived.
In this video, I take a hike around Fort Eben-Emael's perimeter, along the Canal Albert, then head inside to the museum & walking tour. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the Maastricht area, and are interested in military history!
