NUSA LEMBONGAN SURF SPOTS
Shipwrecks Nusa Lembongan
Shipwrecks is one of the more idealistic, picture perfect Nusa Lembongan surf spots. The wave is situated on the north western side of Nusa Lembongan lying about 500m offshore. Sitting over sharp. shallow and colorful coral reef, the wave begins forming around mid tide and continues to break through high tide. It will break at low tides, however only during big swells.
Fast, powerful and steep, this wave caters more to the intermediate / advanced surfer. Shipwrecks is mostly a right hand wave, typically peeling quick down the reef and will occasionally offer up some barrel time. On smaller days it can offer up some lefts depending on swell direction. The current can be tricky and strong here especially during bigger swells and near full or new moons. Some caution should be exercised when surfing this wave in overhead conditions.

Razors Nusa Lembongan
A long left hand wave, Razors is wave that can cater to all abilities depending on the tide and swell. Smaller Swells will offer up some good whitewater and small green faces for beginners to practice on and develop their skills. As the swell increases, the difficulty level increases quickly and the wave will turn very fast and hollow, challenging even the most hardcore surfers around.
Getting its name from the razor sharp coral lying underneath, the reef is wide, long and can offer many different sections to play on. Not quite as consistent as the other waves in the area, however when it is on, its one of the prettiest looking waves around. Favoring the SE trades during the dry season, your best chance to score Razors is from June to October. Surfable on most tides, this Lembongan surf spot is not nearly as crowded as some of the other breaks around.

Lacerations Nusa Lembongan
Lacerations surf spot is a very hollow barreling right hander when it's on. Air-drop takeoffs straight into the tube for a few seconds are what this iconic Nusa Lembongan surf break is all about. Not very long, not very easy and it is by far the most challenging wave in the area on bigger days. Despite the shallow water and sharp coral, when it breaks it will attract many of the more skilled surfers around who will put on a show you can watch from shore.
On smaller days it can also offer up a left hander section. During small swells and high tides, Lacerations can be good for beginner-intermediates to work on their skills. Much closer to shore than its neighbors Razors and Shipwrecks, this is definitely one of the more popular waves in the area.

Playgrounds Nusa Lembongan
The closest to shore and easiest wave to paddle out to on Nusa Lembongan, Playgrounds surf spot is the most user-friendly wave in this area. Breaking from low on through to high tide, this is an A-Frame wave offering up a short hollow right and a longer more rippable left. Due to the fact this wave caters to surfers of all abilities it can get a bit crowded, however, the ever present current moving people around can present many opportunities to catch some fun waves.
Playgrounds will offer up some nice walls to play on and is not nearly the barrel machine some of the nearby waves are. Sitting in amongst a few pontoons and just off the channel where the daily fast boats arrive, the water here is also a a bit deeper than some of the other breaks around. Playgrounds is a perfect wave to further develop your surfing skills.
NUSA CENINGAN SURF SPOTS
Ceningan Nusa Ceningan (Mahana Point)
Ceningan surf spot is a bit of a swell magnet and very consistent. A long left hander offering up a nice shoulder to work with, this wave can be fun is not often too crowded. Low tides and small swells seem to favor this wave the most as it does get many closeout sections when its too big or the tide is too high. Sitting in front of Mahana Point Warung and bar, it has very chilled out vibes and you can hear the music clearly while sitting in the lineup.
The main reason it is not too crowded is the temperature of the water here. Consistently in the high teens or low 20s, it is advised to have at least a 2mm rash guard or wetsuit when heading to this spot. Excellent for pictures and often having ultra clear water, Ceningan is a perfect spot to surf and then enjoy a cool drink watching the sunset.
