To bring together my YouTube Channel of Horror and Fantastic literature in French on one hand, and then three extensive works of reviewing and critiquing Stephen King's last fifty years of literature with a strong point on recent works and TV-Cinema adaptations is a treat you can only appreciate deep in your bed in the middle of a stormy night with nine black cats around you and five bats flipping flopping in the room. When we say Gothic style, first we mention the names of Mary Shelley, who is the founder of Gothic theme with her famous work Frankenstein and, of course, Edgar Allen Poe with his famous short story based on horror themes. Nevertheless, in the 21st century, we can call Stephen King as the representative of Gothic and Horror themes in American and world literature. Although he has been criticized many times because of his rapid fame and disorganized works for some critics, King is obviously the ‘King' of horror stories of Modern American Literature. In this paper, we will investigate pieces of literature in order to draw a clear image of the horror themes in one of his famous novels ‘The Shining’, but it would be better to start with the general description of literary life and horror as one of the main themes in his works.

L’inconvénient avec les bibliographies, c’est que, comme les ordinateurs, elles sont désuètes au moment même de leur conception. C’est pourquoi il me paraît utile et indispensable de continuer à en faire. Celle-ci est peut-être la plus complète sur le sujet en ce début de 2010. Elle comprend deux documents. Le premier recense les monographies, les recueils et les thèses et se divise en trois parties: quelques biographies, les études littéraires et les ouvrages dans lesquels il est question de Stephen au cinéma et à la télévision. Le deuxième document regroupe un peu plus de 400 articles répartis en deux sections : les études littéraires et les études cinématographiques. Ces articles indépendant s’ajoutent à ceux énumérés dans les recueils. Les bibliographies thématiques publiées comme des numéros hors série de Marginalia n’ont d’autre prétention que d’être des instruments de travail et de recherche pratiques, aussi exhaustifs que possible, des prêts-à-servir biblios faisant le tour d’une question précise.
