Comics were invented in Glasgow. It is fitting then that Glasgow should be home to Frank Quitely, known worldwide for drawing Batman, Superman and X-Men. If you're a writer, you want to work with him; if you're an artist you admire his draughtsmanship and signature style: if you're a fan you'll queue for hours to meet him at a comic convention and add his signature to your prized comic collection.

If you love Frank Quitely this is worth getting. It is a excellent little books full of drawings and sketches.

Amazon listed this as a paperback, but it arrived as a hardcover. Frank Quitely is a genius, but this book doesn’t do his work justice. The book is tiny, so the drawings are tiny. It’s also filled with grammatical errors. There are some classic illustrations here that Quitely presented in his TED talk, but not much in this book is new.

I am such a big Frank Quitely fan, when I saw this I purchased it without reading all the details. It's TINY. Considering two of Quitely's distinctive traits is the level of fine detail he puts into a drawing, and his exacting linework, I'm floored that anyone would think of publishing a sketchbook where his work is reproduced SMALLER than it appears in comics. Unless you're a stamp-collector, this book is a waste of your money. My own fault for not looking into the details before ordering it, but shame on this publisher for producing a book like this. They must not normally work with art...

Disappointing

Disappointing. The selection of sketches were limited and not at all interesting. The size of the book (13 cm x 20 cm) was much too small to showcase the artwork me.

very small size Book ... disappointed

Im a fan of FRank Quitely. So i had to buy this book. The artwork provided here is a good collection. But the size of the book is VERRRRY small. I dont know what they were thinking while designing this book !!! Will not and cannot recommend to anyone. You will need a magnifying glass to see the drawings in this book. ( note - i have the hard bound version. There is also a paperback version, but even the dimension provided on amazon website seems all wrong. POOR POOR PUBLISHING CHOICES.

A unique insight into Quitely's work
Reviewed in Germany on November 3, 2018
I really like Quitely's work and enjoyed seeing a more raw and direct side of his sketches in this book. We do some of his more recent work and a glimpse of his sketch book and also a look into a different direction with his animation work. Lovely book for Quitely fans! And yes, they could have made it bigger but hey, we may get a second one! BHP Comics, please do it bigger next time!

Una lástima
Reviewed in Spain on August 2, 2018
