Well to start a brief description of this awesome graphic novel and end of the Dark EMPIRE trilogy is that Tom Veign the writer and my honest opinion underrated Cam Kennedy artwork is superb. This 2nd Edition that for some reason i missed back in 2006 is the best of both world's due to EMPIRE'S END is also included on this TPB which the original EMPIRE'S END TPB goes for $40 + online, on a note's end i highly recommend this volume and also the previous Dark Empire volume 1 TPB because excerpts of this trilogy will be most likely included on Star Wars episode IX possibly titled " A NEW ORDER" last but not least great addition to any Star Wars collector's a solid 10+ 👍

This chapter of the Star Wars Universe takes place six years after the events on Endor (the events in the Return of the Jedi film). Luke has just recovered from being led by the Emperor and turning to the dark side himself.

This series of books (Dark Empire I, II, and Empire's End) has been widely received by many who follow the Expanded Universe. Events in future books are shaped greatly by what occurs in these books, namely restarting the Jedi Academy on Yavin.

Now, for the first time, Empire's End is included with this re-release of the comic by Dark Horse. This set of both books is a Must Have for any Star Wars fan.

First off, I got the wrong one, I meant to get the first one. But this one was good too. I'm only giving it 4 stars. Because It was in magazine form on the "Book on Cd" Really gets you into the story much better than just reading the magazine form. I heard the dark empire 1 and two. And, it was awesome on Cd. I'm so glad Leia saved Luke from the dark side. Why couldn't it be in chapter book form. Anyway, nice job!

I have Dark Empire audio and I want the comic book edition to see the characters and vehicles to see how the characters look. The story is very good and the star wars continues to do good. It is good to see all the characters and this story show how the characters are growing and developing. The art work is good for the time period it was drawn in so please keep that in mind with you read the story. The story line is very good and the art work.

The second and third graphic novels in the Dark Empire series. Much like with the first Dark Empire book, I was rather disappointed. I knew full well it was a graphic novel, but the story line remains weak. I am a long time Star Wars fan, and this book was a bit of a let down. Dark Empire as a whole does not fit well into the Legacy cannon that was created by the books, and now invalidated by Episode 7, primarily with the Thrawn Trilogy and the first 8 books of the X-Wing series. Granted, the Thrawn trilogy was written three years after Dark Empire was, and the X-Wing series was several years after Thrawn, but as I read the Thrawn trilogy and X-Wing series first, this seems very out of place.

I had to get this to replace a lost one that I simply had to have. The story was just as good now as it was back when it first came out, with great artwork and storyline. It's greta to go back to the Rebel Alliance time and relive the building of the Jedi and the New Republic with the originals that made Star Wars what it is today.

Dark Empire is a tale of enemies reborn, heroes tested, and is a new dawn for the Star Wars universe. Fantastic art, a gripping story, memorable characters and filled with lore, this is great for any and all fans of Star Wars

I became a fan of the Star Wars Expanded Universe after reading Timothy Zahn's fabulous "Thrawn" series. From there, I have picked up other Zahn Star Wars books and have read a few of the SW Dark Horse comic stories. In later books there are mentions of a time when Luke learned about the dark side from the cloned emperor...events which happen in the Dark Empire series. So I decided to give these books a try. Frankly, the Dark Empire series just doesn't seem to fit the rest of the Star Wars universe, both in tone and in storyline. The cloned emperor and his dark minions are just too outlandish, too cartoony. The action and plotline just don't seem "believable", which seems strange to say about a work of science fiction, but even that genre should try to follow some rules of continuity. The introduction of massive new powers of the emperor and over-the-top gargantuan weapons just gets to be "too much". In addition, the artwork just falls flat as well. For amazing comic art, I would recommend the Dark Horse adaptation of the Thrawn series (available in a gorgeous hardcover edition). The only reason I would recommend this to anyone is if they were wondering about Luke's time as apprentice to the emperor. If you can live without knowing the details (they're not really that interesting, frankly) then I would skip the Dark Empire series.
