If you didn’t get the chance to try the Cheetos Mexican Street Corn when they were first released nearly a year ago, you’re getting a second chance. Frito-Lay has brought the snack back to shelves, we can only assume, for a limited time.

The classic Mexican street corn consists of corn on the cob, mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, and spices. People have also crushed up Flamin’ Hot Cheetos to put on the corn, so the Cheetos Mexican Street Corn doesn’t seem like a farfetched bite. You can expect a spicy yet citrusy treat to wake up your taste buds.

We can thank various Instagram accounts, including @threesnackateers, to alerting us that Frito-Lay has brought the snack back. In case that these are a limited-edition offering (again), don’t let time pass you by without giving them a try!

ORIGINAL STORY: April 1, 2021 at 11:16 a.m.

For some, Cheetos isn’t just a snack, it’s the snack. Frito-Lay knows this and continues pumping out new, fun creations that make it nearly impossible to not try. The latest snack that will have us doing just that is the Cheetos Mexican Street Corn.

For years, people have been using crushed-up Cheetos to coat their corn on the cob to make Flamin’ Hot elotes. This new snack, however, is swapped because it’s the Mexican street corn that’s coming into the Cheetos’ territory. The classic side dish is made with corn on the cob that’s coated in mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, and spices. So now we’re anxious to see how those elements are going to be combined into the crunchy treat.

Rumors about the Cheetos Mexican Street Corn first popped up from food Instagram account @markie_devo. Granted, the image was blurry, but it gave us something to look forward to. It looks like the time has almost come to enjoy the snack, because both @markie_devo and @snackbetch have gotten their hands on the actual bags (or least pictures of them). Apparently, the new Cheetos are slated to hit stories in May 2021.

As we see on the packaging, Chester Cheetah is holding a lime that’s topped with what looks like Tajin chili powder. So we’re expecting this crunchy bite to have a tasty combination of sweetness, citrus, and spice. We’ll keep you updated as Frito-Lay releases official information, because we’re just as excited for Cheetos Mexican Street Corn as you are.
