In honor of "Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy" dropping on BET+ today, we are celebrating the veteran actor.

Taye Diggs is back and we are officially giving this Hollywood veteran his flowers! Today (September 21), "Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy" drops on BET+, which tells the true story of tech entrepreneur Lance Herndon.

On August 8, 1996, Herndon, 41, was found bludgeoned to death in his bed at his home in Roswell, a suburb of Atlanta. Herndon's extravagant lifestyle resulted in several jealous lovers and sinister enemies. Diggs plays Herndon in the movie adapted from the book “Redbone: Money, Malice and Murder in Atlanta” by Ron Stodghill. Part one drops today and part two begins streaming on September 28.

We look back on his legendary performances in honor of his new film. In case you didn't know, Diggs was born Scott Leo Berry in Newark, New Jersey. The actor and his family moved to Rochester, New York, where he was raised. In 1993 Diggs received his Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in Musical Theater from Syracuse University. The following year, his breakthrough acting debut came in the ensemble cast of the five-time Tony Award-winning play "Carousel." Known for his roles as Winston Shakespeare in "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" (1998), Roland in "The Wood" (1999), Harper Stewart in "The Best Man" (1999), Dre Ellis in "Brown Sugar" (2002), Dr. Sam Bennett in "Private Practice" (2007 -2013), and several others, Diggs’ range as an actor is off the charts.
