McDonald's Menu Ranked: From McNuggets To McFlurry

Sorry but if you're go-to is a Mayo Chicken, you're not to be trusted...

McDonald's might be a global phenomenon, but this universal equaliser varies GREATLY between different countries. A bowl of melted cheese into which you can dip your burger in Brazil? Malaysia's cookies and cream pie? Literal SPAGHETTI? It's a wild, wild world out there.

We might not have the Samurai Burger or a Bubblegum Squash McFlurry, but we do have the Chicken Mayo, the Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap and Cheese and Herb Melts - and, of course, the McDonald's app for contact-free ordering (and occasional deals!). Here's an ultimate ranking of absolutely every single item on the McDonald's UK menu right now. You're welcome.

PS, if you're sat there wondering "Where on earth is the breakfast menu in all of this?!", have no fear... It's coming...

1

God tier: McNuggets

instagramView full post on Instagram

Regardless of what you're ordering from McDonald's (except if you're only grabbing a McFlurry, probs), realistically, you're going to get a side of nuggets. Or at least DEBATE getting a side of nuggets.

Iconic doesn't even cut it: does any other fast food restaurant make nugs like McDonald's? Absolutely not. Get involved.

2

God tier: McFlurry

Soft serve ice cream is undoubtedly better than regular old scoopy ice cream in so many ways: it's smoother, it feels super creamy but melts to the thinnest of liquids, it's vanilla-y without throwing it in your face. McFlurry soft serve is all of these things but HEIGHTENED.

Throw some gorg little crunchy toppings in there (hey Maltesers. Hey Smarties. How you doing, Crunchie?) and you've got yourself the perfect light, sweet bite.

3

God tier: Fries

So iconic they have their own emoji. I don't care if you're a french fry, chunky chip or crinkle cut kinda person. Bow down to the oligarch of fast food chippies.

God tier: McChicken Sandwich

Seem rogue? Hear us out. If you're going to a fast food place, you're probably hankering after that classic soft, sesame-topped roll you expect from a cheap-and-cheerful burger. Ciabattas are all well and good, but isn't that dancing round the point? We're here for crispy, greasy, saucy sustenance. We don't need a bun that's going to give us jip.

The perfect chicken burger consists of one battered crispy chicken fillet, mayonnaise, lettuce and bun. That's it. That's all you need. The McChicken Sandwich smashes that out of the park. We won't be taking any questions at this time.

5

Top tier: Big Mac

Two burger patties, cheese, lettuce, onion and pickles. And the sauce. The sauce that launched a thousand ships (and homemade fakeaway recipes). We almost put the Big Mac at the bottom of the list just for the lols but we don't think our email system could handle that level of hate mail.

6

Top tier: Chicken Selects

Chicken Selects are nuggets for food snobs, basically. Tender chicken breast strips in a seasoned, crispy coating. They feel more natural - which appeals to the fast food haters - but deep-fried chicken is still deep-fried chicken. Delicious, naughty, comfort food.

7

Top tier: Apple Pie

A couple of points deducted for how many times we've almost seared away our entire mouth cavity with molten apple filling. Still, deep fried pie? Count us in.

8

Top tier: Chicken Legend

What the Chicken Select is to the Chicken Nugget, the Chicken Legend is to the McChicken Sandwich. She's boujee (and you best bet she's delicious) but her frills aren't fooling us. This is McDonald's, babs.

9

Top tier: Double Cheeseburger

This is THE no-frills order of legends only. Soft bun. Two patties. More sauce, gherkins and onions than you can shake a stick at. Absolutely NO lettuce. No health. No pretence of fibre or colour or anything remotely good for you. Fast food perfection.

Great tier: Filet O Fish

Honestly, if you're one of those people who crack jokes at a Filet O Fish but have never ordered one: we challenge you to try it. It's pretty good. Fish finger-like breaded fish patty, tartare sauce and cheese.Side note: did you know that a Filet o Fish only has HALF a slice of cheese? Apparently it's so the cheese doesn't overwhelm the fish. We're not buying it. Still delicious, though.

11

Great tier: Spicy Veggie Wrap

By far the best vegetarian option - AND the best wrap option, to boot. Crispy veggie dippers might be ridiculously low on the list on their own, but in a tortilla with some tomato, lettuce and spicy relish, they become something beautiful.

12

Great tier: Mayo Chicken

Like a McChicken Sandwich but if you bought it from Wish. Soft bun (no sesame seeds), mayo, chicken patty and a light sprinkle of lettuce. Cheap and cheerful. Count us in.

13

Great tier: Bacon Double Cheeseburger

Everyone knows that bacon in a cheeseburger is the exact level of extravagance that feels like a big old treat but you're realistically never going to say no to - like when there's a roll of chocolate digestives going round the office. You pretend to consider it and weigh up whether you fancy it or not, but you're always going to say yes.

14

Great tier: Bacon Mayo Chicken

A classic Mayo Chicken with the added deliciousness of bacon. Genuinely good - would recommend.

15

Great tier: Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap

Crispy chicken breast strips, sweet chilli sauce, salad and mayo in a tortilla wrap. Genuinely delicious, although doesn't feel like fast food necessarily. Want to make your wrap feel naughtier? Pop some chippies in there and thank us later. Delicious.

16

Good tier: Cheese And Herb Melts

A blend of Emmental and Mozzarella wrapped in a herby seasoned crumb, served with a rich tomato dip. Delicious, yes - because no little cheesy bite isn't going to be delicious. We just can't help but wonder why they went to all of that effort when we'd be just as happy with a bog-standard mozzarella dipper (or cheese dipper).

17

Good tier: Quarter Pounder With Cheese

Like a McDonald's cheeseburger, only with a chunkier patty. Whether you prefer a regular McDonald's cheeseburger or a Quarter Pounder basically depends on the style of burger patty you like. Us? We prefer a little skinny smash-patty or two. Quarter Pounders are great, but best served at a family BBQ.

18

Good tier: Chicken Deluxe

Cheese in a chicken burger is nothing if not deluxe, but to be honest, we could take or leave a slice of hole-y Emmental in our burgers. The combo of mayonnaise and tomato relish *is* banging, though.

19

Good tier: Bacon Clubhouse Double

A new menu item, and we're not talking about any old burger; two 100% beef patties, rashers of Beechwood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, onions, tomato, lettuce and Special Sauce all sandwiched in a golden brioche bun. Elegant, indulgent, GBK levels of luxury.

20

Good tier: BBQ And Bacon Chicken Wrap

Crispy chicken breast strips, bacon, BBQ sauce, mayo and salad in a tortilla wrap - delicious in theory, but we question who would honestly order this from McDonald's when you could have a chicken burger instead.
