Pregnant Jennifer Ellison has revealed that she was left "terrified" after she fell down the stairs carrying her 3-year-old son.

The star - who is now eight months pregnant - was taken to hospital after she couldn't feel her baby moving.

She told Now magazine: "I fell down the stairs while I was holding my 3-year-old son Bobby. The baby didn't move, so I rushed to hospital to make sure all was OK.

"At the hospital they gave me an ultrasound - and as soon as I heard the heartbeat I was overcome with relief.

"I was terrified I'd hurt the baby."

Ellison revealed that since the accident she feels as if her body is preparing for giving birth.

"Since then I've been getting Braxton Hicks contractions, so it feels like my body's getting ready for labour," she explained.

Earlier this year, Ellison spoke out about her experience with postnatal depression following the birth of her son. She said that she thinks she won't experience the condition again this time around.

"I think I got it last time because of the shock of the labour - it was extremely stressful and very scary. Four days of no sleep and then a baby! Everything was negative in my mind."
