Colin Morgan joins The Fall as new character DS Tom Anderson in next week's episode.
BBC Two has released images of the Merlin star on set for the next three instalments of the crime thriller.
DS Anderson joins Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) in the hunt for serial killer Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan).
"She asks for him to join the team, because she sees a value in him," Anderson explains.
"Based on his confidence and also his age, he could be of value with how they move forward in the investigation."
Best known for playing the title role in BBC One's popular fantasy series Merlin from 2008 to 2012, Morgan is also attached to Channel 4's science fiction series Humans - slated for 2015.
The Fall continues next Thursday, December 4 at 9pm on BBC Two.
