Introducing Handkerchief Hannah, a cousin of Sunbonnet Sue - a popular quilt pattern of by-gone days. Hannah's entire wardrobe is made from ladies handkerchieves each folded, trimmed and hand stitched to the background fabric. Some of the outfits have lace added from another handkerchief to embellish. Hand embroidery was added to highlight each outfit.

Handkerchief Hannah quilt was displayed at the 2023 Madison Quilt Show, Madison, Wisconsin.

This is a very unique one-of-a-kind quilt that took many many hours to make. The machine quilting enhances each block by outlining the outfit and closely meandering around.

The batt is cotton and the backing is a wild brightly colored floral print.

My quilts are made by me in my pet-free, smoke-free home. Machine pieced and machine quilted, they are designed and made to be durable, and usable for many years of comfort and are machine washable.
