A Renaissance building classified as a Historic Monument, the castle of Talcy, in the Loir-et-Cher, is contemporary with the largest castles of the Loire. Despite this, the building remained insensitive to Italian fashion, presenting a more sober and classic facade.
This did not prevent the castle of Talcy from becoming famous in history and literature, its owners having inspired Ronsard, Musset or Agrippa d'Aubigné. The so-called Catherine de Medici and Charles IX bedrooms bear the memory of the conference of Talcy which brought together Reformed and Catholics in the 16th century.
The current castle consists of a tower-porch and a wing which joins it via a covered gallery. In the main courtyard, a well topped with a dome decorates the exteriors. Rehabilitated into a collection orchard, the garden emphasizes the agricultural character of the estate of yesteryear.
