Tips
  • The castle of Saint-Ulrich (530 meters) is the largest and best preserved of the three castles of Ribeauvillé. Built around the middle of the 13th century on a rocky outcrop, the castle underwent successive enlargements. The most remarkable is the addition of a wing composed of two large rooms superimposed and lit on the side by a double row of seven semi-circular windows.

  • One of the most beautiful castle ruins of Alsace. The Romanesque architectural style is still very well preserved. Around 1084 a "castrum Rapoldestein" is mentioned. The ruin today dates from the period between 1200 and 1230.

  • Very well preserved ruin that can be visited extensively. Even the keep is accessible. Beautiful view on the plain and the town of Ribeauvillé, as well as on the opposite castle Guirsberg.
