GAZA, April 4 (KUNA) -- Markets in the Gaza Strip are distinguished with display of popular food and sweets in the fasting month of Ramadan creating seasonal work opportunities for unemployed youth.
Vendors fill their stands with the old Arab dessert qatayef, soft dumpling soaked with rose water and stuffed with cream or ground nuts, and a variety of delicious-smelling food such as falafel, homos and fattah, in addition to various kinds of beverages such as the famous drink in the Middle East, jallab.
Many Palestinians favor the popular kinds of food namely falafel and homos that are part of their heritage -- claimed by the Israelis as part of their tradition. (end) wab.rk
