Gerry Acerno (also credited as Jerry Acerno) graduated in graphic arts from New York City Technical College. He began his career around 1982 with Marvel Comics, doing backgrounds on 'Ghost Rider' and 'Living Monolith' and ink on 'Luke Cage and Iron Fist'. He then became an inker for DC Comics. Acerno has done inking duties on titles like 'All-Star Squadron', 'Arion, Lord of Atlantis', 'Secret Origin', 'Spelljammer', 'Superman' and 'Blue Trinity', and he has also been active in art restoration in the late 1980's. In 1997 he created 'Shadow Lady' for Image's Big Bang Comics. For this comic feature, he did script, pencils and ink. It is in this comic that he shows his passion for Golden Age comic strips. In recent years, Acerno has been doing cover re-creations and commissions in the "Good Girl" art genre.
