Vince Colletta was an American comic book artist, best known for his work on 1950s Atlas romance titles, and as Jack Kirby's inker during the 1960s. Vincent Joseph Colletta was born in Casteldaccia, Italy, and began his career on the American comic book market in 1952. Throughout the decade, he mainly worked as a penciler of romance titles, published by Better Publications, Archie Comics, Youthful Magazines, Charlton (Teen-Age Love, First Kiss) and, most notably, Atlas/Marvel (Love Romances, Lovers and My Own Romance). He additionally inked on Charlton's 'Gunmaster' and the Dell titles 'Guerrilla War', Jungle War Stories' and 'Idaho'.

In the 1960s, Colletta focused on inking. He inked some early 'Daredevil' issues by Joe Orlando, and had a six-year run on Jack Kirby's 'The Mighty Thor' in Journey into Mystery and The Mighty Thor. He followed Kirby to DC in 1970, and inked over Kirby's pencils on 'Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen', 'The Forever People', 'Mister Miracle' and 'The New Gods'. Colletta went on to ink many other DC titles, including a variety of 'Batman', 'Superman' and 'Green Lantern' titles, the TV tie-in series 'Isis' and 'Super Friends', and nearly every issue of Wonder Woman between 1973 and 1980. He was DC's art director from 1976 to 1979. Colletta has been inking for Skywald, Marvel and DC well into the 1980s.
