Obituaries : Ed Jurist; TV Producer, Director and Writer

Ed Jurist, 76, a longtime producer, director and writer of such early television series as “The Aldrich Family,” “Colonel Humphrey Flack,” “77 Sunset Strip” and “Hawaiian Eye.” He also was a frequent writing contributor to “One Day at a Time,” “Maude,” “Diff’rent Strokes” and “Gimme a Break.” His other productions included the 1958 game show “Dotto.” Jurist was a theater major at the University of Michigan and served on the board of the Writers Guild Health Fund for many years.
