Easy enough to throw together on a whim, it contains all of the warm flavors of fall in every bite. Ingredients 1 stick unsalted butter, softened, plus more for pan 3 pounds apples, such as Mutsu, peeled cored and chopped 6 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons lemon juice ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon Kosher salt ½ cup packed brown sugar Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or Greek yogurt, for serving Directions Preheat oven to 375°F. Brush a 2-quart baking dish with unsalted butter. In a large bowl, toss together apples, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt; transfer to prepared dish.
