Bring back Black-Eye Purple!

Or Purple Haze Metallic for you Hendrix fans.

Best color I've ever seen on a MINI.....its shelf life was way too short! (2005 - 4/2006)

Black-Eye Purple with a Black Roof/Mirrors and matte black 18" R133 JCW wheels

I agree, to hell with what appears to be MINI's trend towards the traditional....I'd like to see some colors which pop and catch the eye too.

Purple Haze or Nightfire Red would be two ways to get me to seriously consider a new MINI...

at first I didn't go crazy over my Kite Blue clubman but after looking at all the white and black vehicles on the road today I like it more. I was thinking about the spice orange till I saw one in the service bay, glad I didn't cause that orange is not my cup of tea, I have an orange triumph street triple r bike that I love the color on.

Now a rape grape color ? Maybe.

Purple Haze is still my favorite colour. Though now I find I don't have a good picture of Quentin which clearly showed the colour.

I'm not too impressed with the new colours for 2014. I like the odd colours, Silk Green, Velvet Red (both of which were discontinued before we could buy one), Purple Haze, Indi Blue/Lightning Blue, Spice Orange.

Im pretty sure you can get almost any color you want through "MINI Yours". For a pretty penny, obviously.
I'll be ordering the F56 Cooper in Chili Red.

Unfortunately you can't get Black-Eye Purple through the MINI Yours program. There were rumors flying around for a while that if you had a "hook up" way up the food chain at BMW you could get any color MINI you wanted for a steep premium.

Just bring the damn color back! lol

So, apparently there is a MINI dealership in London (Park Lane) that has some "Individual" colored MINI's in the photos from their Facebook page. Search for their page on Facebook (MINI Park Lane) and you will see a Java Green MCS with a JCW kit, a Matte White JCW, a Techno Violet (old BMW M3 color) S convertible with a JCW kit.

Then click on their "Albums" folder and jump on in to their "Custom MINI's" page. Alpine White? Esortil Blue? Sea-foam Green? Gold Chrome? Pumpkin Orange?

How did they get these colors???? lol

Some of those look like paint but most of them look like a wrap. A few of the pics say that the car is their current showroom car. I'm guessing that the dealership takes a MINI they have in stock and gets it painted or wrapped to bring people into the showroom. I know Crevier MINI down here in LA occasionally has a wrapped car in the showroom. I've been to a few local Mercedes dealerships too and have seen brand new SLS's, E55's, etc all wrapped and for sale.

A few of Park Lane's color choices are amazing tho!

^A few of them are wraps. I think only the Estoril Blue, Green, and chameleon are paint. Probably done by a 3rd party paint shop.
Most dealers will be happy to paint/wrap your car.

Miss the Black Eye Purple, remember when it launched. Now its seem like there are very few, just like Cool Blue and Hot Orange. Post up some pics if you own one.

I still have mine. Have had the local MINI dealers call me up numerous times because somebody saw my car and wanted to buy it from me. My wife won't let me sell it.

In case MINI USA is reading this thread...

Here is another vote for bringing back Purple Haze/Black Eye Purple. When I was shopping for my MCS, it is a good thing I never had the opportunity to choose between Electric Blue and Black Eye Purple. I probably would have tried to figure out some way to buy both!

Today, I was looking on the MINI website at new 2Dr Hardtops and was a little disappointed that the colors are moving away from funky colors but instead offering variants of the colors that every other auto maker out there offers. At least they brought back Electric Blue! I give them credit for offering a pretty hot orange too! I think they need to mix it up a little more than they are, however.

Such a fun car and such a relatively boring set of color choices. I have a spice orange and I'm going to order a volcanic orange for the next one but I hate that it's the only exciting color (IMO) and it's not metallic.
