Connor Mosack nearly laps entire field to claim first-career ARCA Series victory
Connor Mosack entered Friday’s Sioux Chief Fast Track 150 at Kansas Speedway in search of his first-career ARCA Menards Series victory.
Not only did Mosack cross the checkered line as the winner, but he was just one of two drivers to finish the race on the lead lap. That’s right, Mosack nearly lapped the entire field, with Carson Kvapil the only driver to avoid getting lapped by the 24-year-old.
“First, I just want to thank everyone at Toyota and Joe Gibbs Racing. We’ve worked really hard all year, had some bad luck.,” Mosack said after the race, via Motorsport. “I’ve made plenty of mistakes. I feel like we earned that one and we gave a few others away.
“Today, we just went to work to get the balance right. I was definitely holding my breath there at the end, but we got it done.”

Mosack faced little resistance from the field after taking the lead from Dean Thompson on Lap 43. Only Kvapil, making his ARCA Menards Series debut behind the wheel of the No. 28 Chevrolet for the Pinnacle Racing Group, would be able to remain competitive.
A product of JR Motorsports’ Late Model Stock Car program, Kvapil came away satisfied with his introduction to the ARCA Menards Series.
“There are minor differences here and there, but a track this big is something I’ve never been on,” Kvapil said, via ArcaRacing.com. “Practice was quite the eye-opener, but I thought we had a really good car. The car was a little better than Mosack’s for a bit, but as the tires wore out, we lost right-front grip.
“It was fun and I really enjoyed it.”
Toni Breidinger, making her 11th start of the season, finished a career-best third.
“I feel like I struggled a little bit early on in practice,” Breidinger said, via Catchfence. “We kind of had a little issue with the motor, got out a little bit late. I feel I just got a little flustered, a little bit in my head with the car. So kind of have to work through that in practice a little bit. The guys made great changes on the car. [Crew chief] Kevin [Reed Jr.] did a really great job for qualifying.
“I was a little bit disappointed with myself there. I felt like I really had to rebound. My team put so much work into this car. I really wanted a good finish for them.”
