Dr. Peart's lectures were typically him just scrolling through the lecture slides and repeating what was already there. He frequently spent the entire class on one problem. Quizzes are on webassign. Exams are on canvas with proctorio and sometimes you also have to be on zoom. Exams weren't very hard at all. The class wasn't bad but not great.

He's alright but how he weights his grades arent the best. He also isn't readily reachable. We never got tests back so we never got to see why we were marked down and such. Aside that, he's alright

Don't let the other comments scare you. He only counts 8/10 quizzes, which we had multiple chances to do and multiple days to do them He takes 3/4 tests for the final grade. There is a review day before each test. The tests are not super hard, usually ten multiple choice ?'s, and he is available during office hours. His lectures are boring though.

He is the least understanding professor I have ever had. He does not help his students at all. The material isnt hard if youve taken calc in hs, but his teaching style is really hard to learn from. Whole grade relies on tests, assigns tons of 50 question quizzes and gives little time to complete. You will be teaching yourself everything.

He is a really nice Professor. Heavy on Aleks, his tests are proctored but his grading policies are lenient. He drops one test and 4 quizzes, but the Aleks is really important and very time consuming!

ALG is easy for me so I was fine, but most of my classmates struggled b/c he wouldn't teach. Just wrote problems skip some steps to solve them. Doing your ALEKS makes/breaks your grade. Drops lowest test(2/3)/quizzes drops 4 (6/10) . No midterm, final was straight forward. Attendance not mandatory but go to if you struggle & need to see problems

Gives assignments and quizzes on ALEKS. Must complete 100s of objectives before end of semester or you'll fail. Ask him a million times about his rules guidelines and etc on his syllabus b/c he may backtrack on his word. 3 or 4 in class tests before the final. He is not coherent in explanation. You have to teach yourself. No extra credit.

I took this Spring 2010 for undergrad. I am now going for my math masters. This professor was horrible. He has a nasty attitude . His tests are hard and the only thing that helps is that he curves the test grades because so many students fail the exams. By the drop date, more than half the class was gone. Don't take him if you don't have to.

Professor Peart is not a good teacher at all. He likes things done his way and sometimes does not accept other methods on test. An A in the class is possible only because it is Algebra 1 and mainly a review. He however is an awful teacher, I would stay away. If you are stuck with him I would rely heavily on Aleks and teaching yourself. Good luck

Dr. Peart is a very dry professor. His monotone voice does't help the learning experience. He's very stern in his ways, so don't try to persuade him for anything. He definitely doesn't hand out A's , prepare to spend sleepless nights with no positive results. Take him if you must and good luck.

He is a strait forward Prof. however he does not help at all. He simply repeats "it is simple" i usually give professors the benefit of the doubt but after receiving a F i advise you avoid taking his class and wait till another prof. is teaching
I took differential equations with Dr. Peart in spring 2011. I had calculus 1 with him before. He is a pleasant instructor who respects his students. You will learn a lot from him.

I took Dr. Peart for Calculus 1. I was frightened after reading all of the comments on here, but honestly, he wasn't that bad. His lectures aren't particularly helpful, but he'll answer any specific questions you have. If you want an A, you're going to have to take the initiative and work out the material yourself.
