The fortress of Eben-Emael

The unconquerable Fortress of Eben-Emael became very famous during the overture to the Second World War on 10 May 1940. A small team of German paratroopers managed to gain control of the fortress artillery in less than 15 minutes’ time.

  • In addition: every Saturday and Sunday (except for the closing days) in the months from May to October at 1.30 p.m. exactly.

  • Groups larger than 15 persons: by appointment

  • Closing days: 1, 2, 3 & 4 January, 4 and 11 March, 17 April, 1, 6, 7, 8 and 25 May, 4, 5 and 17 June, 15 August, 9 and 10 September, 7 October, 1, 2 and 11 November, 24, 25, 26 and 31 December.

  • 8 euros per adult (with a minimum amount of 120 euros per group)

  • 6 euros per student, teacher or senior citizen (with a minimum amount of 90 euros per group)

  • 4 euros per child under the age of 12 (with a minimum amount of 60 euros per group; the minimum amount only applies to primary schools)
