Eritziane was born in smyrna in 1887.
He received the name chnorq and signed several of his works: chnorq eritziane.
But this name, in the eyes of the ignorant, sounded german; he was made to feel it unpleasantly.
The glorious wounded of the marne decided to leave this name and adopted that of john.
Jean eritziane, a portraitist, studied in moscow, then at the ecole des beaux-arts in paris.
But he felt the need to specialize, and he spent a year successively in the workshop of master bonnat.
And one in that of the master cormon.
Still young, eritziane already had a strong respectabe artistic background.
He exhibited only once, at the nationale, a nude that was noticed.
War broke out in august 1914 and eritziane, all vibrant for her adopted homeland, did not hesitate to enlist.
He leaves his workshop and his models,
His rest and perhaps his future, and made the countryside of the marne.
Cruelly wounded, he miraculously escaped death and gradually recovered from his wounds.

The young master took over the brush and for six months has produced different paintings in the spirit of the eighteenth century, with the modern color.
He applies himself above all, to render exactly the play of light and seems to be on a path that will ensure him the most legitimate success.
He seeks above all to reproduce the nudes against the light and to faithfully translate the reflections.
Eritziane is, in particular, author of a portrait of mr.
Martin, inventor of the french machine gun, portrait acquired by the state (1916).
