Taken over by the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts group, theHôtel de Crillon has been given a new lease of life after 250 years in the Parisian setting, under the guidance of Lebanese architect Aline Asmar d'Amman.
In all, the hotel reveals - for the well-funded wallet - no fewer than 147 18th-century-style rooms and suites , a spa and a 14-meter-long swimming pool topped by a skylight in the basement, as well as a wine cellar and tasting room. A historic 5-star hotel that has seen the crème de la crème of Paris and beyond.
A gourmet restaurant, a modern bar, a brasserie and a winter garden also add to the hotel's long list of big pluses. A little secret: Karl Lagerfeld designed two of the 10 signature suites for the Hôtel de Crillon .
The great couturier wanted them to be "grand apartments", and was chosen for his knowledge of the 18th century.
