OUTGOING UP Maroons skipper CJ Cansino issued an apology on social media platform X after a particular clip from his YouTube vlog involving his teammate Francis Lopez drew flak online.

The snippet, which now has roughly 3 million views, shows Lopez pulling part of a carnival worker's costume while aboard a ride at the Subic Fiesta Carnival.

Part of Cansino's vlog, which also featured the team's gift-giving activity in UP Manila, was their Subic trip with fellow Maroons Harold Alarcon, Gerry Abadiano, Aldous Torculas, Luis Pablo, Reyland Torres, and Seven Gagate.

Shortly after fans called out Lopez and the team for the act, Cansino expressed his and Lopez' remorse and bared that they have been 'trying to contact the person' involved to personally apologize.

"Una po sa lahat, humihingi ako ng dispensa sa tao behind the mask at sa mga nakapanood ng vlog. I take full responsibility for what happened," Cansino said on Monday.

"Walang rason para manakit ng tao, at very sorry si Francis for what happened. Kasama si Francis, we have been trying to contact the person po so we can personally apologize for this," he added.

Lopez explained his side of the story on Tuesday morning through his personal Facebook account, citing how such a 'thoughtless moment' was done without any malicious intent as he vows to be 'more mindful of my actions in the future.'

"On a recent outing with my teammates to a carnival in Subic, I inadvertently hurt a carnival employee in one of the carnival rides. This thoughtless moment was recorded on video and was later posted on social media, and I take full responsibility for what happened.

"I together with CJ (Cansino) and the team have tried to reach out to the employee to apologize to him in person, but we have yet to track him down. We will continue to look for him because I want to talk to him and let him know that it was never my intention to hurt anyone," Lopez said.
