A beautiful book to own Robert E Wells’s moody and atmospheric paintings say so much with so little. Filled with raw and unselfconscious slices of life that resonate with familiar and relatable memories and experiences, this is a high quality gem of a book that I am pleased to have in my collection.

Insightful Book This is an inspiring collection of Robert’s paintings. He’s an incredibly thoughtful painter and his work demands more than a casual glance. Pictures to be savoured again and again.

Soulful artworks to admire I have been following Robert on Instagram and simply adore his work. The colours and textures are fabulous. My particular favourites are his figurative works. Absolutely stunning. His book does not disappoint. I would highly recommend his book for yourself or as a gift for someone special. Enjoy!

Lovely sketches in this snapshot book Loved the personal pictures, but thought the photography of the pictures was not brilliant ( a real difficulty for small pictures that are very dark and textured).

Atmospheric images from a great artist. Highly recommended !! I have been collecting Robert Wells paintings of London for over ten years and delighted he has finally published a book charting his journey as an artist. A lovely quality book full of his wonderful images and background information.

Brilliant Book This is a first rate book which combines fascinating details of the artist's life and how it feeds into his art work. I love the way the book is structured, with distinct sections for differing phases and types of the artist's work and it is easy to see how he worked as an illustrator for some phenomenal projects and why his art work was so critical in enabling major building projects to be delivered. However, for me, of particular interest are the figurative works, where everyday activities are depicted in the most sensitive and interesting way. Without overburdening the works with too much detail, powerful imagery and emotion are conveyed - how he does it, I don't know but it's fantastic.

Fabulous! Really pleased!! – the book arrived quickly and is excellent - the quality of the work speaks for itself.Love the pictorial journey from the early largely architectural landscapes to the darker more recent work.

Would recommend In many works we can see the artist's architectural design background shine through, and it's very interesting to see his stylistic evolution from depictions of townscapes into very unique, warmer scenes of family life take place.
