Isabelle Salé a des origines françaises.

Élisabeth Sallé variations: Salé, Salle, Salée, parfois nommée Isabelle, surnom commun d'Élisabeth

Fille de Pierre, marchand quincaillier et maître aiguiller au palais, et de Françoise Lupia. de la paroisse St-Médard, faubourg St-Marceau (5ème arrondissement) de Paris en Île-de-France. Née vers 1651 (30 ans en 1681).[1]

Elle arrive à Québec le 31 Juillet 1670 à bord du vaisseau La Nouvelle France[2] comme fille du roi, apportant des biens estimés à 200 livres plus un don du roi de 100. Ne savait pas signer.[1]

L'acte de mariage ne nous est pas parvenu, seulement le contrat, Élisabeth Sallé épousa Jacques Marcotte à Trois-Rivières, lieu où Séverin Ameau pratiquait surtout comme notaire, et où leurs deux premiers enfants sont nés. Jacques était frère de Nicolas marié à Martine Tavrey.

Couple avec 15 enfants, dont 12 se marieront. (liste ci-dessous)

Jacques Marcotte décède entre le 6 avril 1717 et le 12 novembre 1720 à Neuville.

Décès
Isabelle Salée, veuve de Jacques Marcot, décède et est inhumée le 31 décembre 1722 à Cap-Santé, l'acte lui donnant 67 ans.[5][6]

Birth

Isabelle (Elisabeth) Salé or Salle, was born in Paris, France about 1651, to Pierre Salé, a hardware merchant and master needle maker at the palace, and his wife Françoise Lupia from the parish St-Médard in the faubourg St-Marceau (5th arrondissement) of Paris.[7]

Migration, Marriage and Family

She became one of the Filles du Roi (King's Daughters) and sailed to Quebec to find a husband with goods estimated at 200 livres plus 100 from the King.[1] She arrived in Quebec city on 31 July 1670 on the ship La Nouvelle France.[2]

Within a couple of months, she entered into a marriage contract on 9 Sep 1670 with Jacques Marcotte before notaire Séverin Ameau in Trois-Rivières[3] The actual marriage record is lost, Trois-Rivières records for the period being fragmentary. Jacques Marcotte was baptized 7 Oct 1644 in the parish of St-Léger in the village of Fécamp, in Normandie, France and had recently emigrated from France with his brother Nicolas.[8]

By the time of the 1681 census, the couple had settled in the Dombourg/Neuville area.[4]

Isabelle and Jacques were known to have had 15 children, 12 of whom married.

I think I've included all the information in both the English and French biography areas of the profile. But my French is only up to reading. I can't compose decently in French.
