Member of Little Richard’s band, Mark Doyle, has died
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Accomplished musician Mark Doyle died unexpectedly on January 4, 2024, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 60 years old.
His family says that at a young age, he gained an interest in music. Doyle taught himself to play guitar and later mastered both the lead and bass guitars.
He was a member of several bands throughout his life, including Phaze, Category One, Projekt, The Blues Dudes, and most notably the Little Richard Band.
According to Doyle’s obituary, he traveled the world playing in large arenas and made appearances on the Tonight Show, David Letterman Show, and Jerry Lewis Telethon.
Most recently, fans could find him DJ’ing at the Upper End in Vicksburg on Thursday nights.
He leaves behind two sons, Marcus Harvey and Mario Doyle along with his ex-wife Mamie Doyle.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 13 at Greater Grove M.B Church located at 2715 Alcorn Drive in Vicksburg.
Little Richard’s Band will honor Doyle with a performance.
