Sacrament of the Sick 

In the event of serious illness or medical emergency, Anointing of the 

Sick and Eucharist may be arranged by contacting the Parish Office.

Sacrament of Baptism 

Parents of infants requesting information about Baptism may contact 

the Faith Formation Office, 496-6011. Infant Baptisms are celebrated 

on the first and third Sunday of each month following catechesis for 

parents and godparents of candidates. 

Celebration of Christian Funerals 

At the time of death, a family member should contact the parish office, 

as soon as possible, to arrange the date and time for the Funeral 

Liturgy. 

Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) 

Adults requesting information about full initiation and communion 

with the Roman Catholic Church (the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist 

and Confirmation) may contact the Faith Formation Office , 496- 

6011. 

Sacrament of Matrimony 

The Sacrament presumes active sacramental participation on the part 

of one or both persons. Couples must begin preparation for their 

Sacrament at least six months prior to their proposed wedding date. 

Please call the Parish Office for more information. 

Eucharistic Adoration 

On the first and third Monday of each month we gather in prayer and 

praise before the Blessed Sacrament. The Diocesan intention is that 

of an increase of vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

We are now actively looking for persons who might be interested in the following positions; 

1. Parish Ministry Coordinator; this would be a full time position with benefits. We are looking for 

an energetic engaging person with preferably a background in prior pastoral ministry or a degree in 

Pastoral Ministry. This person would be working closely with the many ministries in our parish as well

TIJUANA MINISTRY 

Every Thursday, after the 8:15 A.M. Mass, volunteers 

make approximately 300 peanut butter and 

jelly sandwiches which are taken to Tijuana on Friday 

and distributed to the jail inmates, the homeless 

and needy. For more information or to donate

SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL 

Vincentians are called to be servants. We are

CATHOLIC SOCIAL JUSTICE

Join the Catholic Social Justice Ministry and assist 

us to advocate compassion as we seek to eliminate 

the death penalty and replace it with life without

The Handi-Knights is a program to help those in 

our parish and the community with Household 

repairs that they are unable to do because of 

physical or financial limitations. If anyone has the

FAITH IN ACTION 

The perfect way to give back without a huge 

time commitment. There are many folks who 

need a ride to Mass. Faith in Action offers rides, 

assistance with shopping for groceries and other 

chores that we all take for granted. If you have a 

seat available in your car when you come to 

Mass or some spare time to assist someone with

Greeter’s Ministry 

Help greet people arriving for Mass at the front 

entrance to our church. It's fun, it's an expression 

of your love, it's rewarding, it's unity, it's 

belonging, it's familiarity, and it requires very

CHRISTIAN SERVICE 

The Christian Service Office is a referral center 

and a food distribution pantry. We coordinate 

with other ministries and agencies to meet the 

material, emotional and spiritual needs of our 

clients. Our goal is to confirm the God given 

dignity of all we respectfully serve. 

Our office welcomes non-perishable food items 

and monetary donations and if you are interested 

in volunteering please contact us. We

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CELEBRATION AUGUST 5TH AT LA COLISEUM 

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a 

historic event called the "Guadalupe Celebration" at the Los Angeles Coliseum 

on Sunday August 5, 2012. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., and the program begins 

at 3:00 p.m.. This event will be a celebration of Our Lady featuring prayer, music 

and speakers (see website shown below for further information). Archbishop 

of Los Angeles, Jose Gomez and Supreme Knight, Carl Anderson are among 

the guest speakers. 

Our Knights of Columbus (Council #12451) is coordinating the 

bus transportations to leave St. Edward parking lot at 11:00 am on Sunday, August 

5, 2012. Tickets to the Memorial Coliseum are FREE, however, there is a 

small transportation fee of $20.00 for the bus trip. If you prefer to drive your own 

car to the Coliseum, then please be aware that parking will cost $25.00.

Please bring your own lunch. The Knights will provide the cold water. Bring your family and invite

Summer Insight Mass and Beach Nights 

Come join us for our summer Mass and Beach 

Nights. Join us in the church for Mass at 5:30 

p.m. followed by a trip down to Doheny Beach

SICK AND HOMEBOUND MINISTRY 

If you would like to take Holy Communion to the Sick 

we are looking for someone to serve at The Fountains 

Assisted Living Facility in Dana Point. This will be one 

Sunday a month following the 9 A.M. Mass. It would 

involve approximately two hours of your time. You 

would attend a short training session on how to serve 

the homebound parishioners in an assisted living facility
