Donald Trump is set to make his first trip to New York since leaving the White House amid an apparent rift with son-in-law Jared Kushner who the ex-president is said to be angry with over his election loss.

Trump is jetting back to the Big Apple this weekend after spending the last six weeks holed up at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, since he snubbed Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20.

News of his visit comes amid reports of escalating tensions between Trump and former White House Senior Adviser Jared in the days since they both left DC.

Contradictory reports are circling from people close to the two men over who is to blame for the apparent rift but they appeared to actively avoid bumping into each other at the Trump National Doral golf course in Miami Wednesday.

Trump, 74, was spotted leaving the driving range to head to the 18-round course just minutes before Ivanka and Jared arrived to practice their swing, narrowly missing bumping into each other.

Jared, 40, was also absent from Trump's team ahead of his appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference Sunday and the ex-president is telling his inner circle he blames Jared for his failed second run at office, reported CNN

However sources close to Jared say Kushner has 'checked out of politics' because he is 'done' with Trump's false rhetoric of widespread election fraud.

Trump advisor Jason Miller has denied the reports of a rift and told DailyMail.com the two men met up at the club right before their separate golf outings and also had lunch together this past week.

Sources told New York Daily News Trump will fly in to New York City Sunday and stay until Tuesday.

Domestic travelers arriving into New York state no longer have to quarantine or test out if they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 within the last 90 days.

It emerged earlier this week that Trump and Melania both quietly received their COVID-19 vaccines at the White House in January.

The purpose of Trump's fleeting visit is not clear and it is not known if Melania will be joining him.

But, with rumors circling of an apparent rift with Jared, all eyes will be on Trump's travel companions.

Two sources close to the men told CNN the apparent rift has been initiated by Trump who is telling insiders Jared is to blame for his election loss.

'We know the boss isn't going to blame himself,' a source said.

Jared was notably absent from Trump's list of advisers accompanying him to his CPAC appearance where he teased a third run for the White House and continued to push false claims he won the election.

His son-in-law was also missing from a meeting late last week where Trump brought together his top advisers to plan his political future including the 2022 midterms.

According to CNN, these talks - which took place in Mar-a-Lago - included former campaign manager Bill Stepien, adviser Jason Miller, former White House social media director Dan Scavino, Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. and former campaign manager Brad Parscale, who was fired last summer.

A spokesman for Trump told DailyMail.com, Kushner spoke with the ex-president and his advisors every day in the run-up to CPAC.

Another source who worked with Jared in the Trump White House said his absence was unusual given he was one of Trump's closest advisers during his time in the White House and was involved in almost all goings-ons in the Oval Office.

'That's about as 180 a turn as he could ever make,' they said.

'This was a guy who for four years did everything on behalf of President Trump. He lived that job.'

But several sources close to Jared say it has been the 40-year-old's choice to step away because he is 'done' with Trump's rhetoric after he pushed false claims the election was 'rigged'.

While Trump publicly refused to concede, Jared was reportedly urging him behind closed doors to admit defeat. Trump ignored these pleas.

Then, on January 6, a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol in a riot that left five - including a Capitol cop - dead.

Trump was impeached by the House for inciting the insurrection but was acquitted by the Senate during his impeachment trial.

The events are said to have 'wore down' Jared and he now wants no part in advising his father-in-law on his political goals.

'The drama of politics wore him down. Eventually, Trump wears everyone down,' one source said.

Another added: 'Right now, he's just checked out of politics.'

Other insiders have downplayed reports of a rift claiming Jared is just enjoying 'some much needed time with his family' and a 'break' from politics but claim the two men met for lunch Wednesday in Florida at Trump's Doral property.

Ivanka - who has long been rumored to harbor her own political ambitions - is also said to be taking a break and has even told not to even bring up anything to do with their old life in DC.

The couple upped sticks from their home in the affluent Kalorama Heights neighborhood in Washington DC in January.

Some people close to Kushner told CNN they believe that , after a break, Jared will be raring to go to rejoin whatever Trump has in store.

'He is trying to be someone you would go to on the Republican side to put a deal together,' one person said.

Trump has also denied there is any rift between him and his son-in-law.

'There is no rift between President Trump and Jared, as evident by their having lunch this week,' said his advisor Miller.

Trump teased the possibility of another bid at the Conservative Political Action Conference this weekend, where he continued to push his false claims he won the last election by saying he would 'beat' the Democrats for a 'third time'.

Trump told the crowd his wife Melania would be 'the future first lady' and that he would 'beat' the Democrats for a 'third time' - pushing his false claims that he beat Joe Biden.

'Actually as you know, [the Democrats] just lost the White House, but it's one of those things,' he said.

'But who knows, who knows, I may even decide to beat them for a third time.'

He added: 'And I want you to know that I'm going to continue to fight right by your side, we will do what we've done right from the beginning, which is win.'

But his plans may be on hold as both New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. are investigating Trump's business dealings for potential tax fraud.

Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, who has cooperated with Vance's criminal probe, mocked Trump saying he is returning to Manhattan because there is no golden statue of him in the city.

'The human Donald must stand in and be put on display for the multitude of NYC followers desperate to rub the belly and pray at his feet,' Cohen told Daily News.

There is no indication Trump's visit to New York is connected to these investigations.

Miller said he cannot discuss the nature of Trump's trip but said it 'has nothing to do with Jared.'

While Trump has relocated his permanent residence from the White House to Mar-a-Lago, he is from New York and still has Trump Tower in the heart of Manhattan.

In January, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the city was terminating all of the Trump Organization's concession contracts including the two Central Park rinks, Wollman and Lasker, because of Trump's connection to the MAGA mob riot.
