The pre-season friendly will surely go down as one of the Toffees' most bizarre matchups.

Irdning's fed-up goalie, moments after conceding a ridiculous own goal, saw no point in the match and completely stopped playing to allow Nikola Vlasic to make it 20-0 in the 85th minute.

The Toffees led 6-0 after just 17 minutes and 10-0 at half-time against the fifth-tier Austrian side in Silva's first game in charge.

Ademola Lookman scored four times in the opening period in the Alps, as Cenk Tosun also scored a first-half hat-trick during the rout.

Leighton Baines had given Everton the lead in the fifth-minute of the hastily arranged friendly.

Mason Holgate scored four minutes later, before the Premier League side scored four goals in four minutes, through Michael Keane, Tosun (twice) and Lookman.

Lookman and Tosun then shared another four goals as Everton went into half-time at a laughable 10-0.

But it got better and better for Silva - as they were 13-0 up eight minutes into the second half.

Despite making TEN changes at half-time, Kevin Mirallas ensured they kept up the rout - with a four-minute hat-trick, before adding his fourth seven minutes later for 14-0.

Oumar Niasse then pitched in with two of his own either side of a Nikola Vlasic strike as Everton took a 17-0 lead with 15 minutes to play.

Another late flurry of goals, including another for Mirallas and Niasse completing his hat-trick, saw the game end 22-0. Twenty-two-nil.

Naturally, Twitter was quick to make jokes... here are some of the best from half-time alone.
