La Scarzuola—an “ideal city” designed and built by architect Tomaso Buzzi (1900-1981) in the hills between Perugia and Orvieto. The complex comprises seven amphitheatres with capacities from eight to five hundred, although he never intended any to be opened to the public. When Buzzi died in 1981, the work was incomplete, although by that time he’d pretty much abandoned the project. http://bit.ly/2C1mmdr
