Squier Classic Vibe 50's Stratocaster ReviewsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #music7 years ago

Today I'm going to review a guitar that I have bought 3 years ago. After having the guitar for that amount of time, I thought that I had the guitar enough time, to write a review on it.

SOUND (9.5/10)

The sound of the guitar is simply amazing. The  "Custom Vintage-Style Single-Coil Strat Pickups" have a high output and a great tone. The volume and tone control give the player a lot of great sounds, along with the 5-way pickup selector. I myself like to play several genres from funk to metal, so this is why I was happy when I have realized that this guitar has great tone in all genres.

SETUP AND FINISH (8.5/10)

The guitar was ready to be played right out of the box after tuning. The truss rod and the bridge were adjusted,  and the only adjustments that I have made were just to get the guitar to my liking. The finish on the guitar was nice and had no scratches or dings on the body or neck. The lacquer was too thick on the neck for my liking, so I have sanded it down for a more smooth feel.

DURABILITY (9/10)

My guitar is holding up fine after 3 years of playing. The alder guitar body is solid, and so is the maple neck. The buttons and the pickup selector are still great, with the selector still having that nice click when you switch pickups. The guitar stays in tune fine, even when I use the tremolo arm. After gigging with it and playing it every day, I think the guitar is holding up really good.

FEATURES (8/10)

My guitar was made in China in 2013 (I got it in 2014). The guitar is made out of alder (body) and maple (neck). It has a scale length of 25.5" (or 648 mm for all ya metric system users out there), and a fingerboard radius of 9.5" (or 241 mm). It has a 1-Ply pickguard with aged white plastic control knobs and chrome hardware. My guitar has a 2-tone sunburst finish, but you can also get it in black and green metallic on the Fender site. The neck has modern C-shape with 21 frets and a nut width of 1.650" (42 mm).

FINAL VERDICT (9/10)

Overall, If you are a beginner or a an expert that needs that backup guitar on stage, the Squier 50's Classic Vibe Stratocaster is for you. For the low price that you pay you get a lot of guitar. The guitar has a wide range of tones ,is durable and well built. If you are like me and don't mind the Squier logo instead of the Fender one, I would definitely recommend checking it out.
