This holly was given the name 'Alaska' because it is the hardiest holly of all, forming a very tight bushy pyramid of neat growth. Bright glossy green prickly foliage provides a foil to a mass of red berries in winter. This is a FEMALE clone, requires a male pollinator to produce berries. This has been trained as a 'quarter standard' making it a superb architectural feature in the garden. Tolerant of most conditions but thrives in full sun or partial shade in a well drained soil.
