The Lagerstroemia Saint Emilion is a small deciduous tree with masses of crepe paper like, reddish crimson flowers in the middle of summer. Ideal in small gardens with its upright non spreading habit.
Either planted into shrub borders or as a lawn specimen, Lagerstroemia put on a spectacular summer show. They can be clipped tightly into topiary forms and have been used successfully as street throughout the world.
Lagerstroemia flowers best on current seasons growth so an annual prune after flowering is beneficial. Plant in full sun in a sheltered spot in the garden, with free draining soil.
