Ginkgo are large deciduous trees, developing an irregular, spreading crown with age, fan-shaped, 2-lobed leaves, and on female trees, unpleasantly scented yellow fruits each containing a single large seed

‘Fastigiata’ is a deciduous, columnar tree with a narrow crown to around 15m tall. Flat, fan-shaped leaves to around 7cm wide are borne on semi-erect branches and turn a golden yellow in autumn. Small, catkin-like, greenish-yellow male flowers open in spring.
