The tree flowers in the second half of April. The flower buds are pale pink. The flowers are single and turn from pale pink to snow white. They are remarkably large, Ø 5 - 6 cm, and are on long stalks. The tree does not stand up to wet soil. Winter hardiness zone: 6a
