While Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and of course, Bella Hadid, have been busy resurrecting ’90s fashion trends like the mom jean and fanny pack, Selena Gomez is reaching back even further. When the pop singer stepped out yesterday in Los Angeles to promote Bad Liar, she put a millennial twist on ’80s dynasty glamour—in more ways than one.

Gomez suited up in high-waisted Jacquemus capris cinched with a major statement wrap belt. The accessory featured eye-catching gold embellishment and created an hourglass shape. She topped it off with a crisp white shirt, also by Jacquemus, with extreme shoulders, which offset the skin-tight trousers as a clever play on proportions. Meanwhile, her pants came with visible stitching down the front that lengthened the leg. Where a chunky sandal would have been distracting, Gianvito Rossi’s simple white pumps with a pointed-toe felt streamlined and still popped.
