Good News for Your Flat Winter Hair: Keira Knightley Just Made It Completely Chic

It's almost that time of year again—when it's so dry and chilly out that the only time my hair isn't flat is when it's sticking straight out due to static. Sure, it's possible to boost winter hair with the right volumizing products, but those sometimes make static worse. So I'm all about embracing flatness. This year I'm just going to view it as sleekness and keep this image of Keira Knightley in my head for inspiration purposes. #keiraknightley looking sleek and chic on the #redcarpet last night makeup by @kateleemakeup #hairbybenskervin #muse #Hollywood #LA #presstour A photo posted by benskervin (@benskervin) on Nov 11, 2014 at 10:24am PST This photo's from last night's Motion Picture Academy's Sixth Annual Governors Awards, for which hairstylist Ben Skervin gave Keira this incredibly polished and crazy-chic center-parted look. Note the ear tuck—that can be a perfect move when your hair's flat and/or just not bending the right way post-blowout. Other crucial components to getting this look are a shine serum and a flatiron, to smooth away any signs of winter dullness and dryness (just don't forget your heat protectant first, and save the iron for occasional use, lest you make the problem much worse!).
